Angelus
The angelus is usually said at 6:00 and 12:00 every day. This is
why you hear the church bells ring at 12:00 and 6:00.
- The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
- And she conceived of the Holy Spirit
- Hail Mary
- Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
- May it be done unto me according to your word.
- Hail Mary
- And the Word was made flesh.
- And dwelt among us.
- Hail Mary
- Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
- That we may be made worth of the promises of Christ.
Say one of the following two prayers
- Let us pray - O Lord, it was through the message of an angel
that we learned of the incarnation of your Son Christ. Pour your
grace into our hearts, and by his passion and cross bring us to
the glory of his ressurrection. Through the same Christ, our
Lord. Amen
- Pour forth, O Lord, your grace into our hearts, that we to whome
the incarnation of Christ your Son was made known by the message
of an angel, may by his passion and cross be brought to the
glory of his resurrection; through the same Christ or Lord, Amen.
Glory Be
